As I went through school, I found myself participating in activities such as theatre and choir to help fill the desire to entertain and tell stories. You would think my 9-year-old self would’ve given up on this path the second she had to climb up on ten wobbly mattresses at the edge of the stage for The Princess and the Pea. She didn’t.
As I got older the desire to tell stories came out in different ways. I took creative writing classes and built imaginary worlds with characters I wished existed in real life. I did theatre, loving the feeling of the audience falling into the story. But I always was seeing pieces of the puzzle instead of the entire picture.
As I entered college, I realized that filmmaking and producing were where I belonged. I could combine my logistical side (thanks, Mom and Dad!) and my creative side into one place that filled my desire to tell stories. I want to tell stories that matter to people and help them in any way I can. Whether that be to escape or relate, I want to give people the feeling I had watching movies growing up.
Who I Am
I’ve always been someone who relies on storytelling. Whether making myself feel better or communicating with others, storytelling comes naturally to me. Growing up, I loved watching movies and TV shows. I was completely immersed in the worlds they built.
